The highest mechanical strength off-the-shelf fastening system available, its special features control torque-tension characteristics to develop high clamp loads when using properly controlled tightening methods. Brighton Best manufactures L9® bolting from AISI alloy steels.
L9® components are fabricated from high-grade alloy steel AISI 8640H on state-of-the-art equipment right here in the India. All hex cap screws are tested to meet ASTM F606 standards for hardness, classification, fit and elongation. Plating for bolts is Yellow Zinc with a .0002" thick minimum to ASTM B633 Type 2 Class 5 SCI.
180,000 psi minimum tensile strength.
Hex Cap Screws 18-8 Stainless Steel 18% Chromium, 8% Nickel
Hex Cap Screws 18-8 Stainless Steel
18-8 stainless steel hex cap screws will have a typical composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. These percentages exist in 303, 304 and 305 series stainless steels so 18-8 is used at times to designate any and all of those alloy groups. 18-8 stainless steel offers good corrosion resistance and machines easily but will over time stain in coastal environments. They are also acceptable for use in ACQ pressure-treated lumber.
Hex Cap Screws 316 Stainless Steel 316 Stainless Steel
316 series stainless steel differs from 18-8 by its molybdenum content (2-3%) and a higher nickel content (10-14%). 316 stainless steel has greater corrosion resistance than 18-8 as well as superior strength at high temperatures.
